I need someones experience view on our situation with E2E testing:
- We have rating site, where you can leave reviews etc.
- Browsers statistic for our site: Chrome 83 % Safari 10%
- We have sentry so we can catch errors after
- I have good experience with puppeteer, but other E2E tools will be new for me
- E2E test should test app logic and in theory it should be the same on all browsers.
- But safari has quite a few differences (like this). And it may throw error where Chrome would not.
Main Question is: Is it wort test our site cross browser?
Other questions:
- Maybe there is just list of such safari "features" and I just need to be aware of them and I may test only chrome?
- How more time consuming it will be to write tests with something like selenium for 2 browsers rather than puppeteer 1 browser?
- How more time actual tests will consume (when you run tests)? Selenium vs puppeteer
Note:
This question is more because there is too much information rather then there is too little of it.
