How do I encrypt the password in the config.properties file in the Eclipse Maven project for Test Automation using Jasypt?

I can encrypt using Jasypt, however at the time of entering the password in the app, it enters the encrypted password and not the decrypted one- what changes do I need to make in the test automation framework so that the pwd is decrypted at the time of entering in the app?
