So I can do an HTTP GET test without DNS?
I'm looking for something well-known, reliable, generally available (even from China) and which delivers a short response to run a test against, in the absence of DNS or ping.
So something like:
http://123.123.123.123/testpage.txt
Microsoft have their Network Connectivity test page at http://www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt, which would be ideal (returns 'Microsoft NCSI') , but that requires DNS.
There is also:
Which currently hosts a web page, but it's an ad, so a massive file which might well vanish at any moment.
Any suggesions?
