How do you convince your customer for doing test automation?

Recently,I faced the following questions in an interview: 1.The interviewer asked me,"As a Test Lead ,how do you convince the customer for Test Automation ?".I told him ,we can do it using POC and ROI.But ,he asked me to elaborate.Can any one give the complete answer ?..... Thanks in advance.
