Running multiple tests without closing the app with Appium and phpunit

I'm new to Appium and phpunit.

I'm running multiple tests one after another with appium using phpunit. This is working great. But the app opens for every new test, although I create a session only once and never destroy the app(with appium function).

Could someone help me out? Thanks
